Job Summary

The Team
The Tri Cities Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) Team provides services to support children and youth (aged 0-19) who are experiencing mental health issues. Our passionate and experienced team are master's or doctorate trained professionals who work collaboratively with children, youth, and their parents/caregivers in the Tri-Cities to support mental wellness. We partner closely with schools, community services and healthcare providers. We are a supportive and dynamic team who enjoy opportunities to collaborate with each other, increase our knowledge and clinical skills, and provide a high quality of service to our clients.

The Role
In this role you will provide direct clinical services, including intake, assessment, treatment, and crisis intervention for children, youth, and families. You will collaborate with community agencies, schools, hospitals, and other ministry programs while conducting individual, group, and family therapy. Your work will support mental health and wellness and positive outcomes within the community of Tri Cities. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

• Masters in Counselling, Social Work, Educational Counselling, Clinical Counselling, Clinical Psychology or Child and Youth Care or comparable graduate degree at the Master's level in a similar subject may be considered.
  • NOTE:If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services ( ICES ). You must provide a basic report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.
• Minimum of one year full-time equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
• Must possess and maintain a valid class 5 BC Driver's license with no restriction or equivalent (i.e. from another Canadian Province).
  

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

• Two years or more experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
• Applicants who self-identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Métis or Inuit) with the required combination of education and experience.
• Experience with Early Psychosis Intervention, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, or infant and early childhood.

About this Position:
There are currently 2 positions available.
These positions are based out of Port Moody and serve the Tri-Cities.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 1 day at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
