Job summary

A community service agency in Manitoba is hiring a Transitional Worker to support young adults in achieving their personal goals and navigating services. The ideal candidate will have a degree in social services and strong communication skills, with an understanding of Indigenous practices. Responsibilities include assisting participants with their needs and maintaining a supportive living environment. Evening and overnight shifts required.

Qualifications

  • Degree/diploma in social services or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required.

Responsibilities

  • Support participants with self-identified goals and life plans.
  • Assist in acquiring immediate necessities and accessing services.
  • Maintain cleanliness within transitional housing facilities.
  • Organize outings and accompany participants to appointments.

Skills

Verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of Indigenous child welfare practices
Understanding of Anishinaabe cultural beliefs
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
