Job description

Reporting to the Production Engineering Coordinator, the production engineering intern is part of the Engineering department and collaborates with other departments of the mine. She/He will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved, while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

  • There are two primary tasks for the Engineering Intern.
  • The first task in this position is fulfilling the Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) duties for Drill and Blast by:
  • Performing QA/QC on the drill and blast patterns in the field (henceforth referred to as QA/QC) for drilling and loading
  • Collecting and compiling QA/QC data
  • Communicating QA/QC data to the Engineering team
  • Student must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or technical program in mining engineering or related field;
  • Students must be enrolled in their university’s formal Co-op program.
  • A strong ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as a member of a team is required.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to handle change.
  • Demonstrate a high level of energy, self-motivation, and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills including verbal and written as well as presentation skills required.
  • Promote a safety mindset and approach to ensure that all projects and activities carried out comply with safety regulations and AEM standards.

Note that the official working language at Meadowbank Complex is English.

Your Work Schedule:

  • Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;
  • Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
