A Brief Overview
The Housing and Ancillary Services team manages close to 5,000 student beds in 18 residence buildings, off-campus rental apartments, housing properties, three dining halls, 23 retail food service locations, the Donald Gordon Hotel and Conference Centre, the University Club, and Event Services. These facilities also provide temporary accommodations for summer conferences, events, and tourism, supporting vital student life programs and the University's learning environment.
What you will do
- Provide expertise on nutrition and wellness, consulting on challenges related to meal planning and dietary matters.
- Develop and deliver sessions on nutrition and wellness topics such as healthy eating, food insecurity, fueling for sports, plant-based diets, navigating campus eateries, grocery shopping, budgeting for food, and cooking skills.
- Plan and implement engaging healthy eating programs, guest lectures, and presentations for students.
- Create print and digital communication resources to inform and educate the campus community.
- Collaborate with campus and community supports to manage students' nutritional and wellness needs, facilitating access to community, volunteer, and professional food services and programs.
- Manage clinical nutrition for various health conditions.
- Develop and implement plans to mitigate food allergy risks.
- Partner with campus stakeholders and suppliers to enhance the student dining experience through various initiatives.
- Contribute to purchasing decisions related to nutrition, food allergens, packaging, and sustainable foods.
- Perform other duties as required to support the department and/or unit.
