Job Overview

The Warehouse & Inventory Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all warehouse and inventory functions to ensure efficient receipt, storage, control, and distribution of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods. This role emphasizes strong leadership, ensuring that warehouse teams are motivated, well-trained, and aligned with organizational goals. The Manager ensures inventory accuracy, enforces FIFO practices, produces timely reports, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize operations, maintain compliance, and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strong leadership to the Shipping & Receiving, Logistics, and Warehouse Material Handlers, fostering accountability, teamwork, and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Oversee yard organization, optimizing space utilization by ensuring timely return of supplier/growers\' materials.
  • Plan and schedule warehouse activities, including shipping, receiving, and inventory control, aligning with production and customer requirements.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of frozen, dry, and raw materials across all warehouse locations, ensuring FIFO compliance and timely reporting (including third-party warehouse reconciliations).
  • Responsible for overseeing inventory audits and verifying team-led inventory counts and reconciliations are accurate and timely.
  • Ensure product quality standards and fill rate targets are achieved in a cost-effective manner.
  • Prepare and distribute daily warehouse reports, ensuring KPIs (carrier appointment compliance, material movement, pick & load times etc.) are monitored, and performance data is accurate.
  • Lead and drive continuous improvement initiatives to drive efficiency, reduce costs, and strengthen compliance.
  • Develop, coach, and mentor staff, ensuring training, certifications, and performance goals are met while building a high-performing team.
  • Partner with People & Culture to support talent development, workplace engagement, and succession planning.
  • Coordinate with Procurement to maintain just-in-time material flow and with Finance to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and food safety standards, acting as a Safety Champion by leading initiatives, and conducting regular toolbox talks and safety meetings.
  • Oversee the fresh fruit season and optimize the warehouse processes to ensure timely intake, storage and distribution.
  • Prepare and distribute regular inventory reports to management, highlighting stock levels, variances, and aged/obsolete inventory.
  • Obtain and review third-party warehouse inventory reports to ensure accuracy and alignment with company records, highlighting variance and aging inventory.
  • Respond promptly to operational issues, resolving problems to minimize disruptions.
Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in warehouse management or logistics, preferably within manufacturing or food processing.
  • Super-user competency with ERP and/or WMS systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
