Overview

Heartwood Place is a registered charity, founded in 2001, that is focused on having an impact on affordable housing in our community. While our mission is to provide safe, affordable and adequate housing within the Region of Waterloo, our guiding principles encourage families and individuals to build a safe and strong community. We currently have two properties in Cambridge, and one in downtown Kitchener, providing housing to just over 100 families and individuals. Our buildings are home to a wide range of people including the working poor, refugees, people with disabilities, single parents and the elderly. We believe that affordable housing is the foundation for personal improvement, better health, and an overall better lifestyle

Opportunity

As Heartwood Place expands its reach in the community, the demand for people to manage the growth of our service also expands. In short, we need you, your expertise and your network. Heartwood place is a board that encourages diverse cultures in our community and on our board.

Responsibilities

• We have a need for professionals that possess expertise in the Legal, Finance, Construction Development or Technology sectors.
• Board members are actively involved in organizational governance, fundraising campaigns and strategic planning and are expected to attend monthly board meetings in Kitchener
