We are seeking a Vice President, Finance Shared Services to join our team in Winnipeg, MB.

The VP, Finance Shared Services is responsible for overseeing the finance shared services of the Company. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial information and compliance with accounting standards and policies, enabling financial reporting and analysis that provides financial insights to support decision‑making.

The VP Finance Shared Services oversees the planning and execution of integration of acquired companies into the finance shared services function, the development and implementation of standardized processes, key performance indicators (KPIs), and controls and procedure documentation. The VP Finance Shared Services has a shared services mindset and delivers quality services in an efficient manner to its customers. The VP Finance Shared Services collaborates with various departments, such as FP&A, tax, operations, and external auditors, to ensure the integrity of financial information in the general ledger and adherence to regulatory requirements.

The Vice President, Finance Shared Services will:
  • Oversee the Company’s finance shared services function across the organization.
  • Provide thought leadership, effective prioritization of deliverables, and set the future direction of the function.
  • Collaborate with teams across the organization to develop and implement operational finance processes and procedures that align with operational goals and objectives.
  • Lead the month‑end close process for the Company, enabling timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis that provides financial insights to support decision‑making.
  • Review and provide guidance on complex accounting issues, account reconciliations, and other month‑end close deliverables.
  • Implement and maintain effective internal control processes to safeguard company assets and ensure financial data integrity.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during audits to provide necessary documentation and support.
  • Collaborate with the acquisition onboarding team and business unit finance teams on integration of acquired companies; oversee the integration activities for the finance shared services function.
  • Drive standardization and process optimization efforts with a shared services mindset.
  • Develop and implement KPIs and KPI reporting for the shared services function.
  • Participate in project delivery including ERP implementation and other automation initiatives, as required.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance and support in their day‑to‑day activities.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback to team members.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate training programs to enhance the team’s technical and professional skills.
  • Foster a collaborative and high‑performing team environment.
To be successful as the Vice President, Finance Shared Services you will need:
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret and manipulate financial data.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively build and motivate teams, encourage a culture of accountability, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and deliver change supporting the Company’s priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong planning and organization skills, including managing and coordinating teams and project plans.
All‑star candidates will have:
  • 10‑15 years of progressive experience in various accounting and finance roles of increasing responsibility and complexity; shared services experience would be considered an asset.
  • CPA or equivalent certification in good standing and work experience with a major accounting firm is required.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems; proficiency in using Workday considered an asset.
  • Acquisition and integration experience would be considered an asset.
