Location: Nanaimo, BC

Island Animal Hospital in gorgeous Nanaimo, BC, is looking for a full-time Registered Veterinary Technologist to join our team! You will have an opportunity to use your skills to their fullest potential. At VCA Canada, our RVTs are provided with the necessary tools and resources to succeed and pursue multiple passions within our hospitals. Here are the qualifications and attributes we value:

  • Completion of a Veterinary Technician/Technologist or Animal Health Technician/Technologist program. Preparing to write your VTNE? We can help!

  • New graduates with knowledge of physical examinations, patient assessment, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, radiology, venipuncture, and pharmacy are welcome! We love growing new graduates.

  • Surgical preparation, assistance, and patient recovery.

  • Ability to keep detailed and accurate patient records.

  • Compassionate care for hospitalized patients and their pet parents.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to ask clarifying questions to find solutions.
