At Highbury North Pet Hospital, we pride ourselves on providing exceptional care for our furry friends. As a private, Canadian, locally owned and operated independent veterinary clinic, we offer a personalized approach to veterinary medicine, creating a warm, friendly, and compassionate environment for both pets and their owners. We are currently seeking a dedicated Veterinary Receptionist / Assistant to join our small close-knit team!

As a Veterinary Receptionist / Assistant at Highbury North Pet Hospital, you will be the first point of contact for our clients and the face of our clinic. You’ll be responsible for a variety of duties, including :

  • Reception and Client Care : Greet clients (on the phone and in person) and pets with a warm and friendly demeanor, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Scheduling and Appointments : Manage appointment bookings, reminder calls, and follow-ups to ensure efficient clinic operations.
  • Invoicing clients and processing payments
  • Communication : Communicate effectively with clients, providing clear instructions and information regarding appointments, treatments, and procedures.
  • Medical Support : Assist veterinary staff in various administrative tasks, including preparing patient files, handling medical records, and updating patient histories.
  • Assisting with patients : Assist the veterinarian or RVT to handle and treat patients when extra help is needed
  • Clinic Support : Help maintain clinic cleanliness, assist with inventory management, and ensure a smooth workflow.
What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and team-oriented individual who thrives in a dynamic environment. Ideally, you have :

  • Previous Experience in a veterinary clinic is a MUST (receptionist, assistant)
  • A desire to keep learning and growing.
  • Excellent Communication Skills and a customer-first attitude.
  • Strong Organizational Skills and the ability to multitask in a busy environment.
  • A passion for animals and their well-being.
  • A team-player mentality, ready to collaborate and support your colleagues in providing the best possible care for our patients.
  • Good Computer Skills, including familiarity with office software (e.g., Microsoft Office) and veterinary software- Avimark is a plus. You’ll be using our systems to manage appointments, medical records, invoice clients and more.
