Job Description:

We are seeking a Certified Scrub Technician to join our surgical team in Chesapeake, VA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting surgeons during surgical procedures by preparing and maintaining the sterile field, passing instruments and supplies to the surgeon, and ensuring the proper handling of surgical specimens. The Certified Scrub Technician must have a thorough understanding of surgical procedures, instruments, and equipment, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and maintain the sterile field before and during surgical procedures
  • Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon as needed
  • Assist with patient positioning and draping
  • Handle surgical specimens according to established protocols
  • Maintain accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments during procedures
  • Clean and sterilize instruments and equipment after each procedure
  • Assist with room turnover and restocking of supplies
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a Certified Scrub Technician program
  • Certification as a Certified Scrub Technician (CST)
  • Prior experience working as a Scrub Technician in a surgical setting
  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and equipment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
