Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate underground crews for sewer and water projects.
  • Ensure project plans, drawings, and specifications are properly executed.
  • Oversee the work of Pipelayers and Top Men to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Manage daily reporting, paperwork, and production tracking through an online platform.
  • Lead multiple crews effectively while maintaining productivity and safety standards.
  • Communicate clearly with teams, subcontractors, and project managers.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and City of Calgary specifications.
  • Ensure all work meets quality, budget, and schedule expectations.
  • Troubleshoot on-site challenges and provide quick, effective solutions.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience: 5–10 years as a Foreman/Supervisor in sewer and water construction.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of underground utilities, excavation, and installation processes.
  • Leadership: Ability to manage multiple crews, delegate tasks, and maintain a high-performance work environment.
  • Detail-Oriented: Strong organisational skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritise in a fast‑paced setting.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work long hours, including weekends and overtime as needed.
  • Certifications (Assets):
    • H2S Alive
    • CPR/First Aid
    • Fall Protection
    • Confined Space Entry & Rescue
    • Ground Disturbance
    • Rigging & Hoisting
  • Other Requirements:
    • Willingness to work out of town as required.
    • Up‑to‑date knowledge of City of Calgary specifications.
    • Compliance with KLS' zero‑tolerance policy, including pre‑employment drug & alcohol testing and fit testing.
    • Clean driving record with a commercial driver’s abstract.
