Job description

TwelvEighty Bar & Grill offers a great selection of delicious food at an affordable price and is located on campus at McMaster University.

The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking the freshest, top quality food as per TwelvEighty specifications and per server’s order.

This posting closes on Sunday, November 23 at 11:59pm.

Various shifts - mostly day, but could include evenings and/or weekends.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Skills in verbal communication required to deal with customers and others within the organizations
  • Must have organizational skills
  • Background in customer service oriented industry
Effort & Responsibility
  • Ability to make decisions quickly and often without warning (i.e. customer service situations)
Working Conditions
  • Work environment is pleasant but challenging - often the line cook is performing several tasks simultaneously
  • Loud volume, noisy, smoky environment
  • Potential risk of personal injuryLate evenings and weekends
  • Some heavy lifting may be required
Training and Experience
  • Past restaurant experience preferred
  • Experience in campus environment preferred
  • Some computer experience is an asset

Supervisor: Kitchen Manager

Rate: $17.75 per hour for students - Variable hours, less than 20 per week

Rate: $21.00 per hour experienced non-students - Approx 20-30 hours per week
