Job summary

A leading company in transportation seeks a dedicated Truck Driver to manage local and interurban routes. The successful candidate must have a Class 1A license, a clean driving record, and strong customer service skills. Responsibilities include vehicle inspections, cargo management, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Punctual and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Experience with long-combination vehicles is an asset.
• Capable of lifting a minimum of 50 lbs repeatedly.

Operate and drive trucks to transport goods and materials mainly on local routes and short interurban routes

Operate long-combination vehicle weighing over 4500 kg to transport goods and materials

Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection of vehicle systems, equipment and accessories such as tires, lights and turning signals, and brakes

Keep truck and shop clean when using

Ensure cargo is secured properly in accordance with safety requirements and follow safety procedures for transportation

Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption

Administer bills of lading and manually or electronically maintain log books

Communicate with dispatcher, other drivers and customers using communication devices and on-board computers

May perform minor emergency roadside repairs

May transport hazardous products or dangerous goods.

Class 1A is required

Acceptable drivers abstract (no more than 2 incidents in 3 years)
