Overview

This Painter position is a temporary full time assignment or until incumbent returns (employee who owns the position).

Surrey School District #36 is seeking applicants for the position of Tradesperson - Painter, for a full time (temporary) position. Reporting to the Manager of Security and Infrastructure at the District Facilities Centre. The Tradesperson-Painter is responsible for a variety of projects including renovations, repairs, and new installations in over 140 school district sites and offices. The successful applicant must be a team-player ready to be part of a cohesive, effective team of professionals in the Maintenance Infrastructure Department who hold great pride in their work. The department requires applicants to be prepared to work effectively in a small team as well as independently to complete top quality work in a timely fashion.

The successful applicant will have access to top-quality tools and equipment, a well-maintained fleet of vehicles and the beautiful District Facilities Centre located in the heart of Surrey.

Requirements
  • A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s license
  • TQ journeyman ticketed painter
  • A minimum of 5 years’ recent experience in a variety of painting work
  • Ability to perform duties of the position are required
  • Experience working in an institutional setting is a bonus!

This is a unionized position that offers an hourly wage rate of $40.65 per hour plus a comprehensive benefits package: municipal pension, health, vacation & sick benefits as well as on-site gym facility. Effective date per collective agreement.
