Position: Tradesperson - Electrician

Reports to: Coordinator of Operations

Schedule: 8 hours per day

Dates/Wage: Indefinite Term position effective immediately

Wage - $34.72/hr

Task Dimensions

Completes electrical and related school repairs, for example:

  • Servicing and repairing pumps, motors, thermostats, ventilators, outlets, lighting fixtures and other electrical devices.

Responds to after-hours facility emergencies as required.

Works cooperatively and assists other trades and maintenance staff.

Provides expertise and advice to the Coordinator of Operations on electrical issues, for example:

  • Evaluating repairs or improvement.
  • Reporting misuse, inadequate capacity, deterioration, or malfunction of mechanical devices.
  • Identifying materials, tools, equipment, and work routines needed to work efficiently.

Ensures job related tools and equipment are well maintained, for example:

  • Cleaning and returning tools after using them.
  • Lubricating and adjusting shop equipment as required to keep it in good working order.

Completes work order forms and other repair records, for example:

  • Recording time and material used on each assignment.
  • Maintaining vehicle metrage log.

Complies with Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.

Performs other related duties as required.
