THE ROLE

AMD is looking for a Test Content Architect to drive the definition, architecture, and execution of test content strategy for AMD’s large‑scale GPU validation system. This role leads the unification of test content development and management across multiple GPU product lines and engineering teams, ensuring efficient, automated, and comprehensive test coverage across hybrid cloud test farms.

THE PERSON

The ideal candidate combines strong technical depth in test automation and system architecture with the leadership and communication skills to drive alignment across multiple engineering domains. They are analytical, proactive, and results‑oriented — able to balance strategic direction with hands‑on technical engagement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Architect and implement the test content framework and governance model for GPU validation and automation.
  • Lead a virtual cross‑functional team of test content owners across software, firmware, and hardware validation domains.
  • Define and enforce standards for test content development, integration, and lifecycle management within automated CI/CD environments.
  • Enable scalable automation and content reuse across distributed on‑prem test farms.
  • Identify gaps and redundancies in validation coverage and apply data‑driven insights to prioritize new content development.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Strong background in software/hardware testing and automation, with broad knowledge of test methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Python, Bash, and C/C++ — able to read, understand, and guide test and automation code.
  • Experience with DevOps tools and practices (Jenkins, Git, Docker, CI/CD pipelines).
  • Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) for test data analysis and validation optimization.
  • Hands‑on experience with multi‑OS scripting and automation (Linux and Windows environments).
  • Deep understanding of system architecture, including CPUs, GPUs, memory, I/O, and power delivery.
  • Knowledge of firmware, BIOS, and low‑level software interactions relevant to GPU system validation.
  • Proven ability to lead cross‑functional technical initiatives and align diverse teams around shared validation goals.
  • Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills, with a proactive and resilient attitude under pressure.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience in test automation, validation engineering, or system architecture for complex hardware/software products.
  • Experience with datacenter‑scale test systems or distributed validation infrastructure.
  • Track record of improving test content scalability, traceability, and automation efficiency.
