About the Role:

The primary objective of this role is to support the Market Development Team in achieving the strategic and commercial goals of the Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) business within the Cardiology division for Quebec and the Atlantic provinces.

In this field-based sales position, you will serve as the primary point of contact for Boston Scientific’s CRM product portfolio, engaging directly with patients, Electrophysiologists, clinical support staff, and hospital administration. Your main responsibilities will be to drive the adoption and utilization of new and current CRM Boston Scientific technologies, in addition, this role will provide clinical case coverage of existing CRM innovative technologies for a specific territory.

This position is based in Montreal, and the sales territory will be mainly in the Montreal and south shore area.

Sales Development & Territory Management
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the products and services provided by the division and how they can be effectively used in medical procedures.
  • Visit customers and/or potential customers of Boston Scientific on a regular and planned basis to promote products and services to achieve monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales targets, as agreed with your manager.
  • Manage and implement agreements and contracts with hospitals and purchasing groups in assigned territory.
  • Plan daily and weekly visits to assigned hospitals to develop the market for our existing and new products through presentations, in-services, medical procedure support, and contract negotiations.
  • Collaborate with a team of clinical specialists, territory sales representatives, and market development managers to achieve broader strategic goals.
Market Development & Corporate Representation
  • Attend meetings, conferences and exhibitions as required to promote Boston Scientific products and services.
  • Analyze and report to your manager and/or others regarding market changes, competitive activities, product performance and business feedback.
  • Represent Boston Scientific values and integrity.
Clinical Support & Training
  • Attend clinical cases in hospital accounts and perform follow-up to ensure customer success with the implanted products.
  • Serve as the primary resource for clinical support, addressing a wide range of issues related to troubleshooting, programming and effective use of Boston Scientific CRM products.
  • Provide technical training and support to customers directly in the electrophysiology labs, as well as support the needs of hospital management, purchasing department.
  • Support clinical health care professionals with post-implant follow-ups, including device checks, reprogramming, and education on optimal use and care of the system.
Customer Education & Relationship Building
  • Educate customers on the merits and proper clinical usage of company products by giving presentations and to keep all customers informed of the latest product, therapy, and technology developments.
  • Meet with existing and potential clients to understand their clinical needs, goals, and optimal patient care to discuss and demonstrate how BSC products can help them achieve their goals.
  • Develop business relationships with hospital personnel to make new contacts in other departments within the hospital and identify key decision makers to facilitate future sales.
  • Respond to complex customer needs and complaints regarding products and services by developing solutions or working with other related personnel (e.g., sales, clinical, research, marketing, technical support) to develop optimal solutions.
  • Develop strategic partnership with Key opinion leaders.
Required qualifications
  • Minimum achievement of a bachelor’s degree.
  • 5+ years of successful sales experience in healthcare – preferably in Cardiology
  • Strong communication and presentation skills in French and English, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated ability to absorb technical knowledge quickly and disseminate appropriately to all levels of healthcare professionals.
  • Demonstrates solid business and financial skills and understandings.
  • Continuous track record of working well within a team and helping others achieve success.
  • Valid Driver’s License with good driving record.
  • This position requires travel primarily within the province of Quebec.
  • Able to travel for multiple days at a time away from home. (minimum travel expectation is 15%).
  • Candidates should also be comfortable with some evening and weekend work.
  • Competent user of the Microsoft Office suite of applications, both PC and mobile.
  • Displays a consistent and positive attitude.
  • Always maintains a strong corporate image.

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs.

Compensation for hourly, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

Compensation for salaried, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long‑term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

Compensation for sales roles is governed by Sales Incentive Compensation Plan (which includes certain annual non-discretionary incentives based on predetermined objectives).

This job involves regular collaboration with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders across Canada, the U.S., and/or internationally, making proficiency in English essential for effective communication and alignment. English is necessary for engaging with a range of documentation and maintaining effective communication if interacting with external clients or vendors.

As detailed in the job description, this job involves communicating, both verbally and in writing, with other Boston Scientific teams located across Canada, the United States and/or with our international clients and partners. International customers and partners represent an important part of our activities. However, in Québec, Boston Scientific limits as much as possible the number of positions for which it requires the knowledge of another language than French. Boston Scientific solely requires proficiency in English where it is necessary for the performance of an employee’s duties.
