About Strescon

Established in 1963, Strescon Limited has grown to become the largest precast, pre‑stressed concrete manufacturer in Eastern Canada. Its primary market covers the Atlantic Provinces, the New England region of the United States, and Bermuda. Strescon manufactures a wide range of both architectural and structural precast / prestressed concrete products including bridge girders, wall panels, complete parking garages, hollow‑core planking, piling and deck slabs. Strescon presently has two facilities: 70,000 sq. ft. in Saint John, New Brunswick and 50,000 sq. ft. in Bedford, Nova Scotia.

In addition to our engineered precast facilities for custom components, Strescon also operates a 32,000 sq. ft. facility in Saint John which manufactures standard concrete products for engineered drainage systems, such as pipe, manholes and catch basins.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary

We are seeking a Tekla Software Specialist with a strong Engineering Technology background to lead and optimize our modeling and detailing processes for precast concrete structures. This role is ideal for a technically savvy professional who combines deep knowledge of Tekla Structures with practical engineering insight to drive precision, efficiency, and innovation in our design workflows.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, manage, and maintain advanced Tekla Structures models for precast concrete components.
  • Create parametric templates, custom components, and automation scripts to streamline modeling and detailing.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure constructability and compliance with design standards.
  • Troubleshoot modeling issues and provide technical support to internal teams.
  • Train and mentor junior modelers and drafters on Tekla best practices.
  • Integrate Tekla with ERP systems and production workflows for seamless data exchange.
  • Stay current with Tekla updates and industry trends to continuously improve modeling capabilities.
  • Ability to manage and exploit all of the features and functionality of the Tekla product.
Technical Requirements
  • Proficiency in Tekla Structures, including advanced modeling of precast components.
  • Civil Engineering or Computer Science Degree or Diploma.
  • Experience with Tekla scripting (e.g., Tekla Open API, macros) for automation and customization.
  • Strong understanding of precast concrete systems, fabrication methods, and connection detailing.
  • Ability to utilize AI considered an asset.
  • Ability to create parametric templates, custom components, and production‑ready deliverables.
  • Familiarity with BIM coordination tools and workflows (e.g., Navisworks, Revit).
  • Competence in reading and interpreting structural and architectural drawings.
  • Experience integrating Tekla with ERP or MES systems is a plus.
