Technical Operations Coordinator (6 Month Fixed-Term Contract)

Location: Farnham
Contract: Full-time, 6 Month FTC
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum

About the Role

As a Technical Operations Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the IT department. Acting as a key point of coordination and, when required, the voice of the IT Director, you will work closely with Team Leads to track activity, manage priorities, and ensure delivery against agreed objectives.

You will sit at the centre of project delivery, operational support, and software releases, facilitating clear communication between technical teams and the wider business while ensuring processes, timelines, and budgets are adhered to.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and support the workloads of Development, QA, and Infrastructure teams, ensuring tasks are actioned and followed up within agreed timelines
  • Track progress across teams to identify blockers, risks, or deviation from agreed priorities and deadlines
  • Own application support, liaising with relevant IT teams and departments to ensure issues are resolved efficiently
  • Communicate changes in system scope, delays, and potential risks clearly to all relevant stakeholders
  • Chair daily huddles and weekly meetings for the IT department and associated teams
  • Ensure the IT Director is kept fully informed of product issues impacting the business and support resolution planning
  • Monitor workforce hours to ensure effective utilisation and adherence to budgeted targets
  • Work closely with Business Analysts and QA teams to support project delivery, ensuring requirements are captured and progress is maintained
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Highly organised with a solution-focused mindset
  • Proven experience in a coordination role supporting technical or IT teams
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects from concept through to completion
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt style for different audiences
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues and propose practical improvements
  • Experience building and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships at all levels
  • Ability to produce clear requirements from undefined or unstructured information
  • Strong IT skills, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Confident leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, and conflict resolution skills
  • Positive, driven attitude with a strong determination to achieve targets
Desirable Skills
  • Experience in a Business Analyst role or similar
  • Experience working with HMRC-related systems or processes
  • Good understanding of Tax, VAT, and Payroll
