Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day activities of the EDI / Digitization team.
- Manage a group of teammates.
- Enable effective and efficient processing of all transactions within the function through scheduling and organization of workflow.
- Lead and inspire the team to consistently deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring every interaction meets or exceeds customer expectations.
- Approve, implement, and enforce efficient and effective best-practice processes.
- Provide guidance and support to staff in root cause analysis and the sustained resolution of all escalated issues related to department processes.
- Ensure overall quality of service, retention, continuity, risk mitigation and management of any service offered.
- Lead or participate in the financial analysis of business initiatives and apply business and financial expertise to assist in resolution of complex issues.
- Monitor internal and external business information and assess impact on processes.
- Serve as business partner for the area of responsibility with analysis, guidance, and recommendations for new business activities and impacts.
- Foster an environment that encourages employee engagement and motivates team members to perform at their best.
- Identify development needs and provide coaching, support and direction in terms of on-the-job learning and formal training to create development plans that address gaps.
- Lead by example in personal career development and pursuing opportunities to increase knowledge and skills.
- Foster a coaching and mentoring culture within the team and support staff development.
- Support Sobeys talent management succession planning by identifying high-potential employees and creating action plans aligned to needs.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and recognize team contributions for innovative ideas.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ professional work experience in related fields (Business, Accounting, Finance, Technology, Data, etc.).
- Post-secondary education in a related area.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with strong customer service orientation.
- Previous supervisory or people management experience is preferred.
- Ability to positively lead and motivate a team and hold them accountable to deliverables.
- Proven ability to navigate complex situations and have difficult conversations.
- Ability to delegate and manage department workload effectively.
- Ability to quickly learn, understand, and adapt to the technical intricacies of a process.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
- Organized with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
- Experience working in a complex organization; experience with operations and/or merchandising functions is preferred.
- Experience with SAP or other ad-hoc systems is an asset.
- Experience in EDI or working with suppliers and invoices is a strong asset.
Work Model and Compensation
At Sobeys we require our teammates to adhere to a hybrid work model with presence at one of our office locations at least three days per week.
