The Opportunity

As Denison’s Sustainability and Community Commitments Lead, you will play a central role in how the company delivers on its sustainability, community, and Indigenous commitments across the full mining cycle. From early project development through operations and closure, your work will directly impact on how commitments are defined, tracked, and delivered.

Based primarily in the Saskatoon office, you will work closely with sustainability, environment, HR, supply chain, and operations teams to translate agreements into action, strengthen reporting, and resolve issues as they emerge. You will also spend time in northern and remote communities, building trust-based relationships with Indigenous partners, supporting environmental monitoring initiatives, and integrating Indigenous and traditional knowledge into environmental planning and reporting.

This is a role for someone who is also a doer, someone who brings structure, clarity, and follow-through, and who understands that credibility is built through consistency and action. As Denison advances pioneering ISR mining in Canada, your work will help define what responsible, partnership-driven mining looks like in practice.

Key Responsibilities

As a Sustainability and Community Commitments– Lead, you will work collaboratively and are responsible for:

1. Strategy, Governance & Compliance

• Supporting the development of strategies aligned with benefit-type agreements, Indigenous Peoples policies, and best-practice implementation activities.
• Ensure compliance with benefit-type agreements across environmental, employment, training, procurement, and related areas.
• Maintain accurate records of all Impact Benefit Agreement (IBA) commitments and obligations.
• Support annual reviews, audits, and reporting preparation to leadership and the Board.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and strengthen IBA delivery.

2. Reporting, Measurement & Communications

• Develop and maintain reporting structures to track progress against regulatory, community, and agreement-based deliverables.
• Prepare annual progress reports and presentations for leadership and Indigenous partners.
• Track and report on Indigenous hiring, training, and career development outcomes.

3. Indigenous Partnerships & Engagement

• Act as the primary point of contact for Indigenous communities on IBA administration matters.
• Coordinate meetings, workshops, and reporting sessions with Indigenous leadership and committees.
• Ensure respectful, transparent, and culturally appropriate communication.
• Foster trust-based, collaborative relationships with Indigenous partners.

4. Program Delivery, Employment & Environmental Collaboration

• Aid in the initial creation of proposals and program options for internal teams and Interested Parties.
• Coordinate Indigenous participation in environmental monitoring programs, site visits, assessments, and reclamation initiatives.
• Support reporting for Indigenous recruitment, retention, and training initiatives in collaboration with HR, hiring managers, and training providers.
• Connect Indigenous businesses with supply chain opportunities and monitor procurement activities to meet business participation commitments.

Qualifications

As a Sustainability and Community Commitments– Lead, you will possess the following qualities:

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business, Law, or a related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in sustainability, environmental management, and/or community or Indigenous relations.
• Experience working with benefit-type agreements and compliance-based commitments.
• Knowledge of provincial and federal regulatory engagement requirements (experience in northern Saskatchewan is an asset).
• Strong project management, reporting, and analytical skills.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license and eligibility to work in Canada.
