A leading geomatics firm in Edmonton is looking for a Survey Assistant to help survey oilfield and construction sites. The ideal candidate should have a High School Diploma, interest in Geomatics, and strong communication skills. Certification in First Aid, H2S, or CSTS is required. Survey Assistant– Edmonton, AB

who, ideally, has past experience in the Survey industry and has a desire to grow and learn with an innovative, forward-thinking company.

The Work:

  • Assist with the work of surveying oilfield and construction sites in Western Canada.
  • Willing and able to travel as shift work may last up to 21 days.
  • Take direction and instruction from the Crew Chief.
  • Maintain a safe work environment, and awareness of safety issues.
  • Perform a variety of survey-related tasks such as use and/or maintenance of GPS equipment, ongoing survey data collection, and other duties as directed by the Crew Chief.
  • Building a team environment through high-quality communication skills with trades, staff, and clients.

What you bring to the table:

  • A High School Diploma, and an interest in the Geomatics industry.
  • Post-secondary Geomatics education is an asset.
  • Familiarity with the work of a survey crew.
  • Experience working in outdoor bush conditions as well as industrial construction sites.
  • Certification in First Aid, H2S, CSTS, or equivalent.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
  • Ability to provide a passing drug and alcohol test result upon request.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience with riding ATV and snowmobiles.
