Responsibilities
- Manage, lead and support facilities in Montreal including Ryan Road and Percival Reid facilities.
- Ensure projects / work orders are conducted safely, cost effectively, efficiently, to timeline, and follow up on post-project deficiencies.
- Maintain project / product warranties and address any deficiencies.
- Set up inspections and repairs with vendors / contractors as required.
- Oversee day-to-day janitorial, snow removal, and landscaping; resolve issues promptly.
- Ensure vendor / contractor safety, security, insurance and WSIB requirements are current; sign in / out and escort contractors per Skyservice policies.
- Assist with Facilities ticketing system by confirming tickets are captured; assign work and escalate issues as needed.
- Meet with local Operations Managers to understand needs; ensure facility work meets standards and delivers internal customer service excellence.
- Participate in regular status meetings and provide reporting to the Manager.
- Coordinate and assist with Security and Health and Safety inspections.
- Participate as a member of the Health & Safety committee.
- Provide support on quality assurance, safety and security matters related to facility operations, including investigation and closing of occurrence reports per the Safety Management System (SMS).
- Manage security key cards in Montreal including issuance, return, audit and maintenance of the key card system.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with Skyservice internal customers, tenants and landlords.
- Develop understanding of the Maintenance department’s operations to maintain effective relationships.
- Act as a liaison with the Montreal Airport Authority (ADM).
- Perform duties according to policies and procedures with safety as a priority for coworkers, tenants and customers.
- Inspect buildings and life safety components to determine functionality, detect malfunctions, and note recommendations using a check sheet.
- Perform and oversee minor electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry and masonry work as required.
- Maintain an organized inventory of facilities and GSE documentation, parts, tools, supplies and safety equipment.
- Contribute to the development of Facility, Safety and Security training materials in collaboration with SMS and training leads in Canada.
- Monitor Lineservice team members to ensure they meet or exceed requirements.
- Act as Assistant Fire-Warden and Assistant Security Officer; respond to emergencies as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and skills required
- Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in facilities maintenance, ground service equipment operations and repairs, or a similar combination; aviation experience preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalency required; post-secondary education preferred.
- A valid driver’s license required; ability to drive between sites.
- Local airport authority Restricted Area Identification Card is an asset.
- Intermediate understanding of electrical, plumbing, fire, security and HVAC systems.
- Experience with light and medium duty equipment and various hand / electric tools.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities for equipment breakdowns.
- Resourceful, safety and customer service oriented, objective and fair judgment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility to work hours at all Montreal locations; on-call as required.
