Job summary

A community fitness organization is seeking a full-time position responsible for facilitating programs and mentoring staff. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of frontline experience, excellent communication skills, and a relevant educational background. This role offers an hourly wage between $26.27 and $28.14 based on experience, along with various benefits including paid vacation and health coverage.

Overview

Position details : Full time - 40 hours a week - 9:30am - 6:00pm (Mon-Thu) 8:30am - 5:00pm (Fri)

Compensation and Benefits
  • Hourly wage of $26.27-$28.14 depending on experience and education

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate programs and services as required and create a warm welcoming and safe group environment
  • Collaboratively prepare for services with the team
  • Oversee and guide the work of other team members ensuring high standards of service delivery
  • Mentor and support staff in their professional development and daily tasks
  • Lead the development and implementation of new initiatives and programs to enhance service delivery
  • Ensure all services and activities meet organizational standards government contract requirements and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes to improve program effectiveness
  • Comfortable with reporting editing documents and overseeing communications that will go to the public. Proficient with technology and applications such as Excel Outlook and fast-learning systems for reporting and databases
  • Maintain an atmosphere of achievement that inspires self and others to succeed at the highest levels
  • Ensure the safety of all members participants staff and property by following YMCA standards / policies / procedures
What we're looking for
  • 2 years experience in frontline work serving and advocating for individuals in transitions growth and / or hardship
  • Supervisory experience in a social services or community programming role would be an asset
  • Certificate Diploma or Degree in an applicable area of study including but not limited to : psychology social work education
  • A leadership style that serves collaborates and engages a team with energy compassion and healthy boundaries
  • Ability to coach and inspire others with a hands-on approach
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently take initiative and manage time effectively in a fast-paced changing environment
  • Experience in community based programming and working in collaboration with other community agencies and service providers
  • Exceptional interpersonal organizational and conflict resolutions skills
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound judgements and decisions; effective prioritizing and problem solving
  • Ability to be flexible adaptable and multi-task in a high demand environment
  • Valid drivers license and access to a vehicle required
