About this opportunity

Cenovus is currently looking for a Business Student in the Operations Finance Department for the Winter 2026 work term. You will be an integral part of the Finance Team, supporting all team members in finance and accounting-related tasks.

Note: The application deadline for this position is Tuesday, Sept 30th, 2025, at 11:59 PM (MST).

What you’ll do
  • Assisting with month end accruals, journal entries, reporting and variance analysis.
  • Assisting with the invoice attest and accounts payable processes.
  • Assisting members of the Finance Department as they work with the business to prepare quarterly forecasts and possibly annual budgets.
  • Ad hoc support to Finance related projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Who you are

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada full-time for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation upon application (e.g., work visa).
  • Available to begin work in January 2026
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Critical thinker and ability to work independently with limited supervision in a fast-paced, high-performing team environment
  • Attention to detail and accuracy, with a demonstrated ability to work independently, multi-task and meet strict and occasionally moving deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and team skills.
  • Excel skills an asset.

Education
  • Must be enrolled in a Business Undergraduate Program at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term OR registered in an accredited post-secondary co-op or internship program for the duration of the work term
  • Candidates currently enrolled in either a Masters or Ph.D. program at an accredited post-secondary institution may also be considered
  • New graduates are not eligible for student opportunities.
