Job summary

A leading engineering firm in British Columbia is looking for a highly motivated Structural Engineer to join their dynamic team. The role requires a university degree in Structural Engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience, particularly in the energy sector. Key responsibilities include designing complex structures, managing projects, and mentoring junior engineers. The competitive salary ranges from $105,800 to $145,400, based on qualifications and experience.

Qualifications

  • Registered as a P.Eng or PE in a Provincial Engineering Association in Canada or the US.
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering civil structural designs in the energy industry.
  • Experience with power plants, dynamic foundations and/or rotating equipment.
  • Familiarity with relevant design codes for concrete and steel structures.
  • Proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Establish design criteria and prepare engineering specifications.
  • Support planning, scheduling, and cost control activities.
  • Propose solutions for improving processes and procedures.
  • Contribute to knowledge transfer by mentoring junior staff.
  • Conduct on-site inspections as required.
  • Develop detailed civil and structural designs.
