STRESS ENGINEER / ANALYST (H / F) - SAFRAN LANDING SYSTEMS

Overview

Safran Landing Systems is a leader in landing gear and braking functions for aircraft, covering design, manufacture, maintenance and repair. This role focuses on structural integrity of Landing Gears and Landing Gear Systems, including strength and fatigue analyses, finite element analysis, and collaboration with design, customers, and external partners.

Responsibilities
  • Report to the Integrated Product Team - Engineering Group Leader; ensure structural integrity of Landing Gears and Landing Gear Systems.
  • Perform strength and fatigue analysis, finite element analysis, and weight optimization.
  • Establish qualification test requirements and create certification documents.
  • Provide MRB support and review structural reports for airworthiness compliance and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with design teams, liaise with customers, offload service providers, and external partner / supplier structural engineers.
  • Mentor less experienced analysts and ensure high-quality checking of others’ work.
  • Execute trade studies to identify optimum design solutions and ensure lessons learned are applied to new designs.
  • Maintain a harmonized, company-wide standard approach to analysis; evaluate and disposition Non-Conformances as required.
  • Support in-service aircraft activities, production repairs, investigations, and Material Review Board activities as required.
  • AOG after-hours support as required; international travel may be required; occasional offsite work at customer / partner facilities.
Qualifications
  • University degree in Mechanical / Aeronautical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of solid mechanics and fatigue; ability to perform classical strength and fatigue analyses.
  • Proficient with Finite Element Modeling and Analysis; experience with PATRAN, NASTRAN, and ABAQUS.
  • Proficient with Mathcad, nCode and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills in English; knowledge of CAR / FAR / CS 25 specifications is required.
  • Ability to travel internationally; bilingual (French / English) is an asset.
  • Capability to support AOG after-hours as part of a team; experience with offsite work is a plus.
