As a full-time Store Manager, you are passionate about serving your community by providing the best shoe store experience for the whole family. You lead your store team to meet and exceed Talent, Culture, and Operational responsibilities of your role, and you are a people leader who takes pride in motivating a team to achieve sales targets and growth goals. Through personal demonstration, training, and development, you create an in-store culture where customers say, “I’ll take it” and stay loyal to your store, our brands, and our company. You stay enthusiastic about the product and store presentation, keeping up to date on trends and educating your team to do the same. Most importantly, you LOVE shoes, and regardless of style, you help every person who enters your store experience a bit of that Famous Feeling.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Inspire The Customer Connection: Lead the team with integrity and drive, fostering a culture centered on customer relationships, operational excellence, and flawless delivery of both. Dedicate time to develop internal talent by assessing associates’ strengths and opportunities, motivating new levels of greatness by modeling selling behaviors and infusing coaching moments to power our Customer Connection.
  • Lead Talent Discovery: Be enthusiastic and proactive about seeking exceptional external talent, knowing each hire can elevate store sales growth. Invest time, effort, and resources in strong succession plans for leadership roles within the store. Hire individuals passionate about creating top-tier customer experiences driven by attentiveness to service and determination to sell.
  • Own Retail Operations: Be an expert in day-to-day store operations (from pricing to shipment processing to inventory and beyond) and ensure the store runs smoothly. Leverage store standards to keep famous styles easily shoppable. As the strategic mind behind staffing, balance associate availability, peak times, and seasonal demands to deliver exceptional service.
  • Leverage Insights to Deliver Results: Take ownership of goals and their impact on the company’s performance. Drive sales with purpose using insights from business analysis to refine strategies and enhance results. Recognize the significance of every shoe sale and align operational efforts with available resources and partnerships for success.

Preferred Qualifications & Education
  • Has a High School Diploma/GED.
  • Has 1-5 years of retail store management experience, specialty retail preferred.
  • Builds constructive and effective relationships within store teams.
  • Ability to set objectives and organize work to meet and exceed goals.
  • Ability to lead, manage, motivate, and communicate positively with store associates at all levels.
  • Experience in training, coaching, and developing associates.
  • Exercise independent judgment and discretion, partnering with Territory Sales Manager as needed.
  • Displays cognitive skills, including problem analysis and decision-making.
  • Demonstrates expertise in leading general retail practices and procedures.
  • Can work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
  • Has basic computer skills.
Physical Requirements and/or Environment
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 40 lbs. from floor level to above shoulder height using appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
  • Ability to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
  • Ability to be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods of time.
