A provincial government agency in British Columbia seeks a Fire Crew Leader to lead crews in wildfire management. The role involves direct impact on community safety and collaboration in wildfire prevention efforts. Candidates must have relevant experience and certifications, including First Aid. This is a full-time, on-site position with responsibilities in diverse environmental conditions.
At the Cariboo Fire Centre, you'll join a dynamic and established team of diverse individuals dedicated to working together towards a common goal of wildfire management and safety. Our team comprises Unit crews (22 people) and Initial Attack crews (4), with bases hosting between 18 and 52 members. You will collaborate with professionals in wildfire prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery from across the province. The Fire Crew leader plays a critical role in executing fire suppression and hazard plans and ensuring crews are effectively mobilized in incident response. * Intermediate First Aid is the new name for Occupational First Aid (OFA) Level 2, as of November 2024. The name change is part of a restructuring of first aid courses in British Columbia to align with the Canadian Standards.
