Services organization at Lightspeed focuses on providing foundational services that provide core offerings across the Lightspeed product portfolio. In addition to a catered solution for our Golf merchants, Services org owns Financial Services (Payments, Capital), Scheduling Services, and Technical Services (Auth, Merchant Data).

As a Staff Software Developer, you will bring technical leadership to your team & overall Services organization. With strong technical expertise in building scalable & resilient systems & a passion for mentoring others, you will take an active role in leading your team to successfully land key initiatives. You will also help evolve the team processes in all facets of development – idea to delivery, production operations, etc.

Most important of all, you’ll work alongside a team of experts within a growing department providing foundational services to various products at Lightspeed & critical to its success. Note that we are looking for hire for multiple positions across different teams within Services at Lightspeed.

What you’ll be responsible for:

• Lead others in your team & contribute towards enabling timely delivery of key initiatives on the roadmap, with minimal supervision
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Sociedad & other functions/teams to align the relevant stakeholders
• Decomposing high level requirements into development tasks and work items for delegation
• Evolving the technical architecture for the systems your team owns.
• Partnering with other technical leaders across the organization to evolve the overall technical ecosystem
• Bringing a strong commitment to engineering excellence spanning areas like code quality, observability and production operations among others
• Initiating and contributing to continuous improvement of our software delivery processes and practices
• Mentoring your team members and identifying and encouraging areas of growth and career development
• Participating in finding top talent for your team and the organization

What you’ll be bringing to the team:

• Expertise in engineering and computer science fundamentals
• Experience developing scalable, reliable applications on the cloud (we use GCP & AWS).
• Our current tech stack is Java, TS/JS, Node JS React .
• Experience leading multi-quarter, cross team initiatives and feature work from design to production deployment
• Strong sense of ownership মো willingness to take informed risks and champion a blame‑freeودية culture
• Curiosity and a deep desire for continuous learning
• An ability to see the forest from the trees
