The Senior Systems Support Analyst operates in a complex enterprise environment and plays a critical role in enabling release and change delivery for the Canadian Banking Line of Business. As part of a shared services team, this position focuses on core computing infrastructure and IT components, including multi-platform servers, enterprise applications, and host environments.
As the incumbent, you will champion Release and Change mandates through comprehensive pre-implementation analysis, ensuring stability and compliance with enterprise standards. You will also contribute to solutions that automate change delivery and streamline processes across test environments, while collaborating closely with application, engineering, and infrastructure teams to shape solution design, operational processes, and best practices. The role requires working with cross‑functional teams to maintain alignment with technology roadmaps and deliver robust, scalable solutions.
Responsibilities
- Integrate application systems and infrastructure platforms for the Canadian Banking Engineering organization in test environments.
- Identify client issues, devise and architect solutions with delivery teams and release and test environment management teams.
- Champion business and infrastructure deliverables by monitoring cross‑LOB changes, proactively resolving conflicts and ensuring stakeholders are effectively informed.
- Partner with IT stakeholders to implement modern support tools for release and test environment management in deployment, monitoring, and operations.
- Resolve business rule, information and application definition conflicts within shared and dedicated testing environments.
- Provide input on development project planning to align target delivery dates with test environment management services.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, developing best practices, metrics and reporting on release performance and environment health.
- Innovate solutions to provide holistic release and change visibility across cross-platform operating models.
- Design and implement solutions to evaluate change risk, risk budget and risk tolerance, including risk mitigation models.
- Elevate visibility of change, impact and risk to strengthen decision‑making capabilities.
- Provide reusable and integrated systems to deliver services at lowest cost with a supportable operations model.
Qualifications
- Experience with release management tools such as ServiceNow and Jira.
- Scripting and programming skills in Python or PowerShell.
- Experience with PowerBI dashboard design and development.
- Broad understanding of multi‑platform, virtualization and cloud technologies.
- Strong knowledge of ITIL processes for Change, Release and Configuration Management.
- Experience with Agile and DevOps practices.
- Skilled in risk and impact analysis for assessing release risks and dependencies.
- Strong risk management and system reliability engineering acumen.
- In‑depth knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Excellent written and verbal communication for stakeholder engagement.
- Experience working with multiple cross‑functional teams.
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical mindset.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong influencing skills to drive cross‑functional outcomes.
- Post‑secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years in Information Technology systems support roles within enterprise environments.
- 3+ years in release management, test environment management or automation.
