Sr. Software Development Engineers - VANCOUVER, CANADA
We are seeking a Two Senior Software Development Engineers specializing in AWS-based cloud
software with a strong background in data ontology and knowledge graphs. These positions are
in our Vancouver, BC office within our Data Foundation Team. These roles will be pivotal in
advancing our cloud software solutions, incorporating sophisticated data structures and
knowledge representation.


What You'll Do

In these influential roles, you will:

  • Develop Advanced Cloud & Data Platforms
    • Utilize your AWS and cloud-native engineering to design scalable data pipelines, leverage
      modern table formats, and embed policy-as-code.
    • You will harness GenAI-powered developer tools to accelerate delivery while building robust, governed, self-service cloud platforms.
  • Lead in Technical Innovation
    • Guide the technical trajectory of a growing two-pizza “You Build It, You Run It” team.
    • Drive adoption of distributed data processing, Lakehouse architectures, and sidecar “Agent Boss” agents that continuously operate, optimize, and remediate workloads.
    • Ensure solutions adhere to cloud and data engineering best practices while unlocking velocity and scale.
  • Collaborate and Influence.
    • Work closely with product managers, data scientists, and platform engineers to balance velocity with governance.
    • You’ll shape the future of our AWS-based platforms, ensuring they meet both business goals and user experience expectations, while sustaining a true 24×7 support model.
  • Mentor with Expertise
    • Bring specialized expertise in cloud-native data processing, platform reliability, and GenAI-driven development.
    • Mentor engineers from co-op to senior level, foster a culture of craftsmanship and learning, and help build the next generation of technical leaders in our Canadian engineering hub.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience including
    experience delivering complex, enterprise-grade software projects.
  • Strong proficiency in Java, Python, and SQL for enterprise application
    development, data processing, and database operations.
  • Strong expertise in AWS services and cloud architecture, with emphasis on
    building scalable, reliable, and secure software and data platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with large-scale data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache
    Spark, Flink, or AWS Glue) for distributed computing and analytics.
  • Proficiency with modern cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift)
    for data warehousing, analytics, and scalable data management.
  • Experience with cloud service integration and APIs.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps principles and modern CI/CD practices for secure,
    automated software delivery.
  • Proficiency with Docker and containerization technologies for deployment,
    scaling, and environment management in cloud environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of data security, governance, and privacy best
    practices in cloud-native environments.
