What is the opportunity?

As the Sr. Manager, Treasury Solutions, with RBC’s Treasury Solutions Capital Markets Coverage team, you will be responsible to proactively provide advice and enable clients to leverage RBC’s cash management solutions, taking responsibility for clients’ onboarding, activation and ongoing adoption of digital solutions. Your clients are Strategic Tier 1 and large complex treasury clients in Capital Markets, Non‑Bank, FI and Insurance sectors in Eastern Canada, U.S., UK and Europe. These clients often have significant strategic, operational and reputational importance for the bank and provide a gateway for various products and services, directly or indirectly impacting revenues to the business and RBC. Along with their portfolio management responsibilities, you collaborate with the Regional Director in various account planning and risk management activities that grow relationships, enhance loyalty and drive innovation.

What will you do?
  • Build relationships and manage revenue growth within a portfolio of corporate clients with a focus on recognizing and supporting client needs, enhancing client loyalty and sharing opportunities for additional RBC products
  • Develop portfolio and individual client growth plans and reviews with Regional Leader/Director
  • Implement client calling strategies and opportunity developing/tiering activities for existing and targeted clients in region to ensure an exceptional client experience, retain accounts and to grow Cash Management, Deposit and RBC revenue
  • Identifies key work activities, Sales and Operational requirements, manages RFP processes for client portfolio and successfully closes opportunities for new/upgraded solutions to existing clients
  • Provide support for operational/transactional risk working appropriately with Capital Market partners/Business Risk/ Global Banking Services Centre (includes CBAs, BAA’s, account documentation, etc.)
  • Coordinate and collaborate with Regional Team on the completion of annual relationship reviews for Strategic Tier 1 and Solution Senior Market clients (formal and informal)
  • Delivers business advice and new insights to clients with a unique perspective, using industry and economic insights to effectively lead meaningful client discovery sessions to uncover hidden business challenges and opportunities
  • Develops client strategy reviews/plans in consultation with relevant stakeholders, reviewing and providing guidance on Direct or Indirect Report’s client plans
  • Works proactively with Managing Director, and Corporate Client Group partners to develop and execute regional sales and marketing plans that grow revenue streams and ensure business targets are achieved
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
  • 5+ years banking experience within relationship management, account management or sales role with extensive knowledge of the Cash Management Products, emerging industry trends, and the ability to speak to broader RBC strategies, relevant industry/legislative issues
  • Proven track record providing exception client advice/service, achieving business plan and revenue growth in different market situations
  • Proven negotiation skills in complex client scenarios and the ability to work with executive level stakeholders both internally and clients within the portfolio
  • Ability to match client needs with product/structure solutions; implement developed strategies and manage projects to schedule; and prioritize in managing multiple and sometimes conflicting time demands
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including exacting attention to detail related to customized contract documentation
  • Organizational awareness with a commitment to continuous learning to ensure personal and sales’ team skills/knowledge/accreditations are up-to-date
  • Ability to travel up to 25% within Canada and the US
  • Obtained or working towards the Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation
