Role summary

This role is responsible for driving pre‑sales solutioning for Microsoft Data & AI offerings, including Microsoft Fabric, Purview, and complementary Azure services. The architect will lead proposal development, create solution blueprints, and collaborate with global teams to win large‑scale transformation deals.

What you will do
  • Lead architecture design for Microsoft Data, Fabric, and Purview solutions in response to RFPs.
  • Develop solution blueprints, implementation plans, scope, assumptions, and dependencies.
  • Provide effort estimation and pricing models for proposals.
  • Deliver solutions across data management, governance, migration, cleansing, analytics, and visualization.
  • Collaborate with Microsoft Fast Track teams to ensure the proposed solutions are appropriate.
  • Build strong network with key KPMG member firm contacts to drive impact for KDN advisory.
  • Design strategies for high‑volume data migration from legacy platforms to Microsoft Fabric.
  • Analyze competitor offerings and position KDN Microsoft solutions effectively.
  • Represent KDN Microsoft in wider KPMG global forums, industry forums, webinars, and client workshops.
  • Publish whitepapers, blogs, and reusable solution assets within KPMG network.
  • Develop reusable frameworks for Fabric adoption, governance automation, and migration.
  • Integrate Copilot for Data, Azure OpenAI, and Power Platform capabilities into solution designs.
  • Ensure solutions meet regulatory compliance standards (GDPR, HIPAA, SOX) using Purview and Microsoft security stack.
What you bring to the role
  • Minimum 12+ years in data architecture, analytics, and governance solutions.
  • Proven track record in pre‑sales roles within large consulting or professional services firms.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse architecture, OneLake governance, Data Activator, Real‑Time Analytics).
  • Complementary Microsoft Data & AI services: ADF, Synapse, ADLS Gen‑2, Databricks, PySpark, Power BI, Dataverse, Copilot Studio.
  • Certifications: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure AI Engineer Associate, Power BI Data Analyst Associate, Microsoft Fabric Specialist, Purview Data Governance, Copilot Studio.
  • Industry experience: Familiar with industry data models – Financial Services, Insurance, Healthcare, Industrial Manufacturing, E‑Commerce/Retail.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong cross‑boundary collaboration and stakeholder management.
  • Experience and expertise with migrating / connecting large data volumes from other platforms to Fabric.
  • Existing Microsoft MVP for Fabric (Preferred).
  • Global travel up to 20% for pre‑sales opportunities, workshops, and alliance engagements.
KPMG Ontario Region Pay Range Information

The expected base salary range for this position is $104,000 to $150,000 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, KPMG offers a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards program.
