  • Review and optimize HV/MV substation, collection, transmission line, and equipment specifications (transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear, battery storage (BESS), etc.).
  • Conduct or review power system studies (e.g., power flow, short-circuit, arc-flash, protection coordination, grounding) and ensure all designs align with applicable codes, standards and company specifications.
  • Act as technical interface for the project between internal teams (Power Business Development, Technical Services, Power Operations, Supply Chain Management, Legal, Safety, Land, Environment, Projects Supporting Groups, etc.), external consultants, EPC contractors, equipment suppliers and equipment vendors.
  • Aid in the procurement process for HV equipment by developing/supporting technical bid packages, optimizing design and equipment, reviewing/approving vendor submittals and working collaboratively with the broader project team in bringing domain expertise to equipment sourcing.
  • Provide expert technical support during the construction and commissioning phases, including office and project site-based oversight & quality control through design and construction, participating in acceptance tests as required and taking a leadership role in commissioning and integration, working collaboratively across internal & external teams.
  • Actively contribute to the project reporting & key achievements tracking to partners and management, proactively bringing up issues as needed.
Who you are
  • University degree in Engineering, registered as a PE (US) or P.Eng. (Canada), strong preference for Electrical Engineering.
