Job Overview

Immediate support needed for Sr. Design Engineer (Elect/Ul&C) on the following projects:

  • Current Security Modification Projects (Elect/Ul&C):
    • 10-89186 (NSSP SB3&4 SECURITY SYSTEMS UPGRADE)
    • 10-86044 (NSS-P STORAGE BUILDING 5 SECURITY)
    • 10-86437 (NSSD SB3 SECURITY UPGRADES PROJECT)
  • Non-Security Modification Projects (Electrical/Ul&C):
    • 10-84491 (NSSD-DWMF Storage Building 3)
    • 16-80124 (Replace Obsolete Controllers)
    • 16-87135 (CSA Sewage Pump – Surface Mount)
    • 10-86144 (NWM WWMF Electrical Power System Upgrades)

Support upcoming/planned security and non-security in-house modification projects as Sr. Design Engineer.

Perform duties of Technical Engineer/Officer (Elect/Ul&C) in project design, including:

  • Design engineering as per qualification 33685
  • Plant modifications per N-PROC-MP-0090
  • Oversight of contractors per N-COI-00120-10000
  • Design activities administration

Responsibilities include problem-solving, providing advice, developmental studies, and recommendations during design, commissioning, and operation of nuclear facilities. Requires experience to become fully competent.

Manage detailed design and engineering activities of multidisciplinary projects at nuclear sites, prioritizing safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) in Ontario
  • Knowledge of Engineering Change Control processes, including design change packages, procurement support, and field support
  • Ability to prepare security system design reports, specifications, calculations, and technical evaluations
  • Strong knowledge of Asset Suite AS7/AS9 and familiarity with modification processes (N-PROC-MP-0090, N-GUID-00700-1ClilOOe)
  • In-depth understanding of security systems: access control, detection, surveillance, alarms, and communication systems
  • Experience as Design Engineer/Team Lead in physical protection systems
  • Understanding of regulatory standards and compliance, including CNSC requirements and Design Basis Threat (DBT)
  • High integrity and ability to handle sensitive documents professionally
  • Valid security clearance, eligible for Level II security clearance
