Overview

Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Planning & Treasury Operations and Sr. Analyst, Reporting and Planning, this is an important professional role within UFA's Finance team. The position is responsible for budgeting, financial planning and maintaining accurate and timely internal and external reporting efforts. This includes a crucial role in compliance and capital spend reporting, preparing strategic insights through MD&A narratives supporting executive decision-making. The position also prepares ad hoc and ongoing reports for the wider department and continually evaluates and implements efficiency opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic reporting duties, including (but not limited to): preparing strategic reports with comprehensive analysis, forecasts and insightful narrative for executive leadership and board review.
  • Financial Forecasting and contributing to decision making.
  • Facilitate credit position forecasting through communication with business units, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and highlight risks to management.
  • Budgeting and Financial Planning duties, including (but not limited to): contribute to the preparation of the annual Business Plan, including the financial and non-financial discussion points.
  • Cash flow forecasting activities, including working with the Treasury team to maintain and report on long-term debt position.
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements for budgets and forecasts.
  • Lender Compliance and other required reporting: prepare daily, monthly, and annual compliance reports and recommend a course of action to maintain good standing with banking syndicate.
  • Coordinate compulsory field examination and inventory appraisal with business units and follow through on audit outcomes.
  • Coordinate internal and external activities and recommend a course of action to ensure PCI compliance.
  • Maintain banking related documents such as authorized signatories.
  • Complete other financial ad-hoc requests on a timely basis.
Qualifications

Previous Financial Reporting, or Investor Relations experience, with some combination of :

  • Experience drafting MD&A, financial communications, or working with investor relations.
  • Risk mitigation, hedging, or cash forecasting
  • Financial modelling and forecasting
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong forecasting, technical, and interpersonal skills.
  • More than 5 years' work experience with a minimum of 3 years in a senior analytical position.
  • University degree in Finance / Accounting / Commerce / Business, or equivalent. Professional Designation: CPA, CA, CMA, CGA or CFA is preferred.
  • Experience and familiarity with SAP, BI and Power BI is an asset.
