Interior Health is hiring a permanent full-time Specialist, Medical Staff Governance who is passionate about making a difference in healthcare.
Location: This position is flexible within the Interior Health Authority.
Salary range for the position is $88,990 to $127,923. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.
The Specialist, Medical Staff Governance, is responsible for managing key initiatives to support the Interior Health (IH) Health Authority Medical Advisory Committee (HAMAC) and Medicine Leadership Team, as well as provides leadership and supervisory support to the HAMAC Coordinator.
Reporting to the Director, Medical Administration and Governance, the Specialist is responsible and accountable for the planning and implementation of strategic, enterprise-wide initiatives to advance medical staff governance frameworks, initiatives, policies, and practices in accordance with Interior Health governance structures. The Specialist has a strong understanding of health authority and provincial medical staff governance structures (i.e. The Hospital Act, Medical Staff Bylaws & Rules, and Credentialing and Privileging) and HAMAC’s mandate, including roles and responsibilities. The Specialist develops, fosters, and maintains strong collaborative working relationships with and among Medical Affairs, Medical and IH Leadership, external partners, and other interested parties.
