Who You Are

You are a Sous Chef with a passion for food and experience leading a team you can be proud of. You see yourself as a mentor first and are seeking an opportunity to leverage your skills in training and building a dedicated, long-term kitchen team that consistently delivers high-quality products while adhering to all regulatory standards.

This position reports to the Executive Sous Chef and oversees production in our dedicated Hot and Cold Kitchen operations, producing Ready-to-Eat meals, sauces, soups, and add-on options for our direct-to-consumer product line.

Adaptable: You thrive in a changing environment and can pivot direction easily.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Lead the Kitchen Production Team responsible for batch cooking and assembly of a variety of Ready-to-Eat (RTE) food products in a high-volume, CFIA-registered food production facility.
  • Ensure all products are produced on time, in full, and to specification — maintaining the highest standards for taste, texture, quality, and presentation.
  • Uphold and enforce all federal and provincial food safety regulations, including CFIA, HACCP, and GMP standards to ensure compliance and audit readiness.
  • Maintain and manage production equipment, tools, and supplies — ensuring the facility has the proper resources to support a growing recipe portfolio and increasing production volumes.
  • Drive continuous improvement by analyzing production processes, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing solutions to improve yield, throughput, and labor productivity.
  • Partner with Purchasing, Warehouse, and Quality Assurance to ensure availability of raw materials, accurate inventory control, and compliance with product specifications.
  • Track, monitor, and report on ingredient usage, yield losses, and production KPIs, ensuring accurate data to support forecasting, costing, and process optimization.
  • Conduct batch trials and refine food products from concept to launch, including recipe development, shelf-life testing, and scaling for production. Collaborate with the Culinary and Quality Assurance teams to ensure products meet quality, cost, regulatory, and customer requirements.
  • Train and motivate the production team to uphold safety protocols, sustain high performance, and foster a positive, collaborative work environment.
What We Are Looking For
  • Culinary Diploma required; Red Seal certification preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in high-volume food production or banquet kitchen operations, with a strong focus on productivity, efficiency, and process improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with Purchasing, Quality Assurance, and Human Resources teams in a regulated food production environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills; able to identify operational challenges and implement practical, innovative solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, adaptable to various teams and stakeholders, ensuring clear and concise information flow.
  • Proven ability to multitask, manage competing priorities, and consistently meet tight production deadlines without compromising quality or safety.
What You Can Expect
  • Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
  • Competitive salary that recognizes your skills and experience
  • An energetic, inclusive workplace where your voice matters and your contributions drive real impact
  • Comprehensive health benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance after 90 days
  • Exclusive food perks that let you experience our amazing products
