Job description

Kunai builds full‑stack technology solutions for banks, credit and payment networks, infrastructure providers, and their customers. Together, we are changing the world’s relationship with financial services. At Kunai, we help our clients modernize, capitalize on emerging trends, and evolve their business for the coming decades by remaining tech‑agnostic and human‑centered.

We’re looking for a passionate, technically skilled QA Lead Engineer to join our team and partner with one of our key clients. In this role, you will go beyond traditional testing by helping to shape and mature a modern, automated QA practice within an agile environment. You will lead hands‑on testing efforts while driving the adoption of a scalable, automation‑first framework. This is an opportunity to make a direct impact on how software quality is defined, measured, and delivered. If you enjoy building processes, mentoring teams, and driving meaningful change in how products are tested and released, let’s chat.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead manual and exploratory testing for a high‑impact product, ensuring exceptional quality across APIs, user interfaces, and end‑to‑end user journeys.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans and test cases, identifying edge cases and potential points of failure before they reach users.
  • Establish efficient bug tracking and reporting workflows, collaborating closely with developers to ensure quick and accurate resolution.
  • Perform regression testing to validate fixes and maintain feature integrity across releases.
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams including engineering, product, and design to embed quality at every stage of development.
  • Architect and implement an automated testing framework, selecting the right tools and strategies to support long‑term scalability.
  • Mentor team members and promote a quality‑first culture by helping developers and product managers adopt best practices.
  • Define and document a clear, repeatable QA process that integrates seamlessly into the agile delivery lifecycle.
What You Bring
  • 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance with a strong record of identifying critical issues and improving overall product quality.
  • A solid technical foundation with the ability to understand complex system architectures, APIs, and data flows.
  • Hands‑on experience with AWS and familiarity with modern data platforms such as Snowflake or Databricks.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Playwright or Puppeteer or proven success building custom frameworks from the ground up.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python or TypeScript.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to clearly articulate findings and collaborate with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Our success over the past 20 years is rooted in our exceptional team, which thrives in a culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous learning. We are proud to offer our employees a range of benefits, including competitive compensation, professional development opportunities, and flexible work arrangements, all designed to help them thrive. As we continue to expand, we remain committed to cultivating an environment where people feel valued, have a voice, and are given the tools to grow—both personally and professionally—while pushing the boundaries of innovation in the fintech industry.
