Qualifications

  • 2 years Azure Data Factory pipeline development experience (highly desirable).
  • Experience in developing CI/CD pipelines for Azure Data Factory.
  • Support/integration experience with SaaS solutions and vendor‑driven technology.

Global Collections Technology provides solutions and support to the retail Collections business operations in Canada, LATAM and Caribbean countries. We support mission critical applications and technology processes across the global landscape of the bank to help our business partners provide customer service excellence with regards to the collection of delinquent payments.

A key technical contributor to the Cloud migration journey for Global Collections. Designs and develops ETL processes on pipelines using Azure Data Factory / Azure SQL Managed Instance platforms. Refines processes and pipelines for code and infrastructure delivery, ensuring protection of sensitive Bank data as it relates to Collections data processing.

Provides Azure ETL processing on‑call support for Canada Collections.

In this role you will:
  • Develop new solutions and improve existing technology capabilities to ensure Collections data processing activities are executed in accordance with business requirements
  • Provide L1/L2/L3 support for ETL processes built on SSIS, DataStage and PLSQL
  • Provide Cloud technology support to Collections, including new and existing portfolios, ad hoc queries, and assisting with the design and implementation of systems enhancements
  • Work with Infrastructure teams to co‑ordinate infrastructure/environment related upgrades, patches and migration activities
  • Resolve highly complex, multi‑faceted problems to meet Collections business needs, providing recommendations on design, methodologies and system solutions
  • Co‑coordinate and follow up with various other different teams, vendors and third party for issue resolution
  • Liaise with appropriate teams bank‑wide to fix data quality issues
  • Provide input to the continuous improvement of processes and adopting latest technologies and methodologies
  • Ensure the documentation of issues, solutions, root cause and findings for use in future problem resolutions
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day‑to‑day activities and decisions
  • Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
  • Champion a high‑performance environment and contribute to an inclusive work environment

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?
  • Hands‑on experience on Azure Data Factory/Synapse ETL pipelines creation from scratch and troubleshooting cloud configuration issues
  • Strong SQL Server development experience, including designing efficient stored procedure‑based dataflows, building DB objects such as tables, indexes, partitions
  • Strong knowledge on SQL code optimisation techniques, leveraging tools such as SQL execution plans
  • Strong fundamentals of security and IAM on Azure Cloud
  • Solid practical understanding of Active Directory, Service principles, Secrets, Private End Points, Azure Key Vault
  • Experience developing CI/CD pipelines on Azure DevOps for deployment of Azure Data Factory/SQL ML code base to higher environments (UAT/PROD)
  • Development techniques, such as debugging, testing, coding, use of version control tools like TFS
  • 2 years Azure Data Factory pipeline development experience (highly desirable)
  • Performance tuning skills are considered a valuable asset
  • DevOps process orientation
  • Experience in Linux SSH Scripting
  • Experience in .NET Core Development (C#, ASP)
  • Practical experience with technology integrations, using best practice methods to establish secure connectivity (i.e. APIs/Microservices) for data exchange
  • Support/integration experience with SaaS solutions and vendor‑driven technology
  • Basic knowledge of Jira and Confluence
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills in order to quickly and effectively resolve problems in a demanding environment
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) related to technology solutions, project deliverables and ongoing communication
