Job summary

A reputed aviation service provider is seeking a part-time Shop Hand in Kamloops. The successful candidate will maintain shop cleanliness, assist with repairs, and manage GSE transportation at Kamloops Airport. Must be physically capable and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions. A valid driver's license and criminal background check are required. Qualifications

Job description

Have you had experience working on vehicles or GSE? Do you have a passion for keeping things clean and being a reliable, dedicated worker? Well, Executive Aviation is looking for a part-time Shop Hand to work around our Ground Services Equipment (GSE) at the Kamloops Airport (YKA). This person would enjoy working closely with our full-time Automotive Technician. They would be responsible for keeping a tidy work environment, driving GSE back and forth from the terminal, assisting with small repairs, and have a general understanding of basic PMI’s.

The Role
  • General shop duties and variety of tasks
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop floor
  • Pick up any necessary parts that have been ordered, may be asked to order parts based on direction of the Automotive Technician
  • Bring GSE equipment to and from the ramp
  • General knowledge of basic PMI’s (preventative maintenance inspection)
  • Work with shops Automotive Technician to manage and maintain schedules and priorities
  • Complete all documentation associated with repairs
Qualifications
  • Must be able to stand, lift, bend, crouch, kneel and push and pull for extended periods of time
  • Successful completion of all Training and Read and Signs
  • A physical ability to consistently lift up to 70lbs/32kgs
  • Must be willing to work outside in all types of weather
  • An ability to meet all conditions of employment:
  • Restricted Area pass issues by Transport Canada
  • A criminal background check
  • Hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
