A prominent tax consultancy in Vancouver is seeking a Senior Tax Manager to deliver high-level tax planning strategies and supervise tax staff. The candidate should have a CPA designation and a minimum of 5 years of Canadian tax experience at a CPA firm. Responsibilities include coordinating special tax projects and improving client service. Ideal candidates come from mid-sized or national firms. This role operates on a hybrid schedule.

Qualifications

  • CPA designation and completion of the CICA In-Depth Tax Program.
  • Experience in a public accounting firm as a manager or senior manager.
  • In-depth knowledge of private company Canadian income tax matters.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in CaseWare, Caseview, Taxprep, and Microsoft Office
  • Experience in a public accounting firm as a manager or senior manager
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with partners, clients, and related advisors
  • In-depth knowledge of private company Canadian income tax matters
  • Strong technical skills with a creative approach to practical solutions
  • Excellent analytical, leadership, problem-solving skills, and professional judgment
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills
  • High standard of integrity and commitment to exceptional client service
  • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and adapt quickly

Skills - Must Have:

  • Completion of the CPA In-Depth Tax program
  • 5+ years of Canadian tax experience at another CPA firm in Canada
  • Experience managing a team of tax staff
  • Experience in tax planning, compliance, returns, and income tax for private company clients
  • Experience working with owner-managed, small to mid-sized organizations
  • Current work experience at a CPA firm in Canada
  • Ability to come into the Vancouver office on a hybrid schedule
