Senior Project Manager

Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead a major long‑term care and multi‑use institutional project based in the Greater Toronto Area. This is a senior, site‑based leadership role on a $M+, multi‑phased healthcare related development scheduled to commence construction in February, 2026. The successful candidate will be responsible for full project lifecycle delivery, providing strategic oversight, mentoring project teams, and acting as the primary point of accountability for schedule, cost, quality, and client relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Provide overall leadership and management of the project from preconstruction through construction and closeout.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the client, consultants, and key stakeholders.
  • Lead project planning, execution strategies, and risk management for a large, complex institutional development.
  • Oversee budgets, cost controls, cash flow forecasting, and change management to ensure financial objectives are met.
  • Direct and mentor Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and Project Coordinators, fostering team development and accountability.
  • Oversee preparation and management of RFIs, submittals, contracts, change orders, and all project documentation.
  • Develop, monitor, and update detailed construction schedules using Procore and other project management tools.
  • Lead claims management, contract negotiations, and dispute resolution in collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Chair site meetings, ensure clear communication of objectives, and drive timely resolution of issues.
  • Champion jobsite safety, quality standards, and company values while promoting a collaborative, high‑performance culture.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 10+ years of progressive construction experience, including senior‑level project management large‑scale $50M+ projects start to finish.
  • Proven experience delivering simultaneous large‑scale institutional, healthcare, long‑term care, or mixed‑use projects with a general contractor.
  • Strong leadership background with demonstrated success managing and mentoring project teams.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction contracts, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑management skills in client‑facing environments.
  • Proficiency with Procore and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work on‑site in Scarborough, Ontario.
