Structure

This position reports to: Engineering Manager.

Role Summary

In this role, you will have the opportunity to be a design authority for an engineering discipline. Each day you will complete assignments on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects in a cost-effective manner. You will showcase your expertise by ensuring assignments are completed in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards.

The work model for the role is: onsite or within a customer office environment.

This role is contributing to the PAEN Engineering team in Vancouver. Main stakeholders are PAEN engineering and our local customers in Vancouver.

Accountabilities
  • Work with the customer to shape and deliver solutions while seeking customer feedback to drive and deliver improvements.
  • Create work plans and cost estimates for the portfolio of projects and ensure quality, timely implementation within the targeted cost.
  • Coordinate with relevant functions to ensure the designs are appropriately manufactured / staged, tested, installed, and commissioned.
  • Coaching engineering colleagues on the translation of conceptual designs to engineering documentation, best practices, and lessons learned from past projects.

Qualifications
  • Immersed in, engaged in, absorbed in, highly skilled in, and enjoy working with ABB 800xA control systems and the Energy and Waste Water Treatment markets.
  • Demonstrate experience in or advanced skills: 7-10 years of experience in process automation / control systems, working as a project engineer with 800xA system systems.
  • Enhanced knowledge of 800xA engineering tools and systems.
  • Passionate about or innovative around collaborative team engineering and hands on control system implementations.
  • Degree in or proven experience of automation engineering in energy industries.
  • Communication in English.
  • Current Engineering degree valid in any Canadian Engineering association, preferably EGBC and able to work in Canada.
