Position Overview:

Our Transportation team has a strong reputation for excellence, delivering diverse projects across rural and urban environments. We focus on sustainable, resilient transportation solutions that integrate all modes of travel, ensuring safety and efficiency for motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists. We seek a senior leader with extensive experience in transit planning, particularly in the Ontario market, and a strong network within transit agencies, municipalities, and consulting firms.

You will report to the Vice-President of Transportation Ontario and support growth initiatives in transit planning, especially in TPAP and BRT markets. Your role includes identifying new projects, developing bid strategies, and leading project delivery, supported by our skilled teams across various disciplines.

This position can be based in any Ontario office, including Mississauga, Burlington, Bowmanville, London, Kitchener, or Ottawa.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire our transit planning team, fostering growth and excellence.
  • Develop business strategies to expand CIMA+'s presence in Ontario's transit planning market.
  • Lead proposal development, including technical and financial aspects.
  • Manage transit planning projects of varying complexity.
  • Support large projects as a discipline expert when needed.
  • Oversee project teams, contractors, and consultants.
  • Contribute to team growth through recruitment and mentorship.
  • Participate in business development and marketing initiatives.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering (Master's preferred).
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario.
  • Registered Professional Planner (RPP) in Ontario.
  • At least 10 years of transit planning experience.
  • Deep knowledge of transit systems and Ontario's transit market.
  • Proven leadership in managing cross-functional teams and stakeholder engagement, especially in TPAP projects.
  • Strong financial management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and negotiation skills.
  • Effective communication skills for diverse audiences.
  • Strategic mindset and ability to build industry partnerships.
