Job description

Phreesia is seeking a smart, energetic, and highly motivated Product Manager to join our Data team, with a focus on building data products atop our modernized data engineering foundation. As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for driving initiatives through the full product lifecycle, from identifying stakeholder needs to defining technical requirements and measuring impact.

In this role, you’ll serve as the connective tissue between business needs and our growing data platform. You’ll collaborate closely with data engineers, analysts, data governance, and product stakeholders to define and deliver thoughtful, scalable data products that unlock insights, improve reporting consistency, and support operational decision-making.

You’ll primarily focus on transforming business questions into reliable data models and carefully defined datasets - abstracting away complexity and enabling efficient, trusted access to key metrics. The ideal candidate is technically fluent in data concepts, naturally curious, and an excellent communicator who can translate across technical and non-technical domains.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own the vision and roadmap for data products, aligning priorities with business goals
  • Build trust across technical and non-technical teams by clearly communicating the “why” behind product decisions
  • Be accountable for delivering clearly defined product outcomes
  • Champion data products internally, advocating for consistency, governance, and the value of well-structured data across business and technical teams
  • Understand stakeholder needs and business questions, translating them into ERDs, dataset definitions, and structured documentation
  • Collaborate closely with Data Engineering to develop detailed product requirements and user stories
  • Support the long-term strategy of building a scalable, governed, and self-service data ecosystem, with input from product leadership and engineering
  • Build business cases for new datasets, metrics, and modeling initiatives based on user feedback, operational pain points, and strategic priorities
  • Track adoption and effectiveness of data products using usage metrics, feedback loops, and internal KPIs
  • Provide guidance, training, and context to internal stakeholders (e.g., analytics, data science, support) to maximize adoption and understanding of data products
  • Triage data-related issues, manage escalations, and prioritize fixes or enhancements

What You’ll Bring:

  • 3-7 years of product management experience, preferably in a high-growth B2B SaaS environment OR at least 4 years of experience at Phreesia with demonstrated product ownership and cross-functional leadership
  • Strong understanding of data concepts and familiarity with data engineering workflows, including data ingestion, modeling, observability, and governance
  • Passion for making a difference in healthcare and improving access to care
  • Hands-on experience or familiarity with tools such as Snowflake, dbt, Airflow; comfort working with SQL and basic Python
  • Proven ability to define and communicate data models (e.g., ERDs), source-of-truth definitions, and technical documentation that bridge business needs with engineering execution
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of ownership and autonomy
  • Experience leading product initiatives across multiple cross-functional teams
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment
  • Demonstrated curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with a bias toward clarity, consistency, and delivery
  • 10% travel to client sites, team meetings and other off-site meetings
