You’ll work as part of a high-caliber technical team supporting the design, implementation, and optimization of proprietary heat-exchange equipment throughout its life cycle. You’ll have opportunities to lead complex projects, mentor junior engineers, and shape the development of next-generation thermal systems.

What You’ll Do
  • Supervise and validate process simulations for new thermal and process equipment.
  • Develop and seal process engineering deliverables, including Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Heat & Material Balances (HMBs), Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Process Control Narratives, equipment datasheets, hydraulic/pneumatic calculations, and detailed heat-transfer calculations.
  • Provide senior technical support to the Project Management team to resolve process-related queries and validate the quality interface with third-party manufacturing partners.
  • Lead and participate in process hazards analyses (What-Ifs, HAZOPs, HAZIDs).
  • Provide commissioning and troubleshooting support during equipment start-up and operation.
  • Establish data requirements for performance validation and carry out post-processing analyses.
  • Validate that installed systems meet thermal intent and operate safely and efficiently.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers, supporting their technical and professional growth.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • P.Eng. designation (or eligibility) in Alberta.
  • 10-15+ years of progressive process-engineering experience.
  • Deep knowledge of transport phenomena and thermodynamics.
  • Familiarity with regulatory codes and standards (PED, ASME).
  • High proficiency in process simulation and design software (Aspen/HYSYS, HTRI, ASPEN EDR, etc.).
  • Functional skills with programming or scripting skills (Python, VBA, or equivalent) to automate and solve engineering problems.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities among safety, schedule, and budget constraints.
Working Conditions
  • Flexible work policy.
  • Occasional travel required.
  • Overtime may be necessary from time to time.
