Overview of the role

Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Technology Portfolio & Planning this role will support Technology leadership through delivery of projects and initiatives; the implementation of a sustainable portfolio planning and delivery process; and ensuring funding invested in technology portfolio is governed, tracked and proven to deliver.

Key Deliverables include
  • Drive the technical planning health of all portfolio layers, proactively identifying and resolving delivery risks and bottlenecks (architecture compliance, technical debt reduction, deployment readiness, security gates, dependency mapping, and recovery strategies).
  • Advance organizational maturity in portfolio management by introducing prioritization, governance, and planning processes.
  • Support the maintenance of real‑time dashboards and consolidated reporting on key portfolio metrics and performance for executive‑level insights.
  • Manage the Portfolio Management tool, including setup, configuration, training, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
  • Gather input from across the business on key strategic initiatives and synthesize findings into executive‑level presentations to drive prioritization and alignment.
  • Engage with business units to execute multi‑year investment portfolio planning roadmaps aligned with corporate strategy and technology objectives.
  • Collaborate with Finance on monthly and quarterly deliverables, ensuring accurate budget tracking and proactive forecasting for technology investments and resource allocation.
  • Develop tools for planning, dependency tracking, and scenario modelling to enable informed decision‑making.
  • Own project‑to‑resource reconciliation to drive workforce planning and forecast staffing requirements for future fiscal years.
  • Serve as process steward for Resource Management and Portfolio Management tools; lead training, adoption, and best practices across teams.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders and act as a strategic liaison between business objectives and technology execution, translating priorities into actionable technical plans.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to enhance portfolio management through automation, advanced analytics, and emerging technologies.
  • Champion data‑driven decision‑making and foster a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement in portfolio governance.
Experience and Qualifications
  • Degree in software engineering, business, economics, mathematics, or a related field; MBA, PMP, MS, MA, CFA, or CPA is an asset.
  • 6+ years of experience in strategic planning, consulting, technology portfolio analysis, project management, or technical delivery.
  • Previous airline planning and analysis experience is an asset.
  • Experience in IT project delivery and Agile environments, with understanding of enterprise architecture principles, technology roadmaps, and governance frameworks.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity, data platforms, cloud technologies, and infrastructure planning is an asset.
  • Expertise in business planning, workforce planning, and resource optimization to support multi‑year investment strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills with expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, resource management, and budget planning for technology investments.
  • Proficiency in portfolio management tools and advanced Excel modeling.
  • Proven organizational and project management skills with ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects under tight deadlines.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills; adept at translating business objectives into technical plans.
  • Detail‑oriented, naturally curious, and committed to delivering high‑quality results.
  • Ability to lead governance forums and implement standardized processes, driving compliance with architecture, security, and quality gates.
  • Built and delivered executive‑level dashboards and analytics that improved decision‑making and reduced delivery bottlenecks.
  • Successfully implemented and administered enterprise portfolio management tools, including configuration, training, and vendor coordination.
  • Developed integrated planning frameworks aligning technology investments with business priorities, improving sequencing and resource allocation.
  • Introduced automation and advanced analytics to portfolio reporting, reducing manual effort and increasing accuracy.
  • Achieved measurable improvements in portfolio health by driving technical debt reduction and resolving critical dependencies.
