Job description

At CoLab, we help mechanical engineering teams bring life-changing products to market years sooner.

CoLab is a cloud based platform for engineering design collaboration and review. We make it easy for subject matter experts (SMEs) across your business to access, evaluate, and comment on 2D drawings and 3D models. Our built-in AI peer checker, AutoReview, scans designs for common errors or non-compliance with your standards and guidelines. AutoReview creates markups and comments on your files, in context – just like a human checker.

With CoLab, human SMEs and AI work together to help you make better decisions and improve designs faster. We automatically capture knowledge from across your global business that would otherwise be buried in emails, spreadsheets, slide decks, and unknown locations in Sharepoint or PLM. Then, we make sure every lesson learned and every design guideline is applied exactly when it matters.

Companies like Johnson Controls, Komatsu, Schaeffler, and Polaris have launched products 40% faster, cut BOM costs by 50%, and reduced quality escapes by 15% in 1 year.

What you’ll do:
  • Interpret complex customer problems and requirements and work as part of a Product team to build solutions that add value for our customers and the product as a whole
  • Collaborate with other team members to design and plan new product features and changes based on requirements and UI/UX designs
  • Provide input on, and implement improvements to, the tools and processes the team uses to develop, test, and ship critical user-facing features on a regular basis
  • Participate in code reviews and help your team deliver high-quality software
  • Champion all aspects of the user’s experience, with a focus on clarity and speed
  • Contribute to company and product vision, ideation and planning
  • Mentor, support, and be an information source to junior developers
What you’ll need:
  • Professional software development experience working on production-level SaaS products, mentoring and coaching peers and coworkers
  • Proficient with Java, C#, Python and object oriented languages.
  • Experience with version control, release management, and CI/CD workflows
  • Experience with front-end build, package-management & testing tools such as Webpack, NPM, Jest, Cypress, etc would be considered an asset
  • Consistent track record of building and maintaining highly scalable products would be considered an asset
  • Passion for working in teams with emphasis on respect and continuous improvement
  • PLM/CAD Domain Requirements
  • Experience in PLM integrations development, issue reproduction, and root cause analysis.
  • Preferably PTC Windchill, but also including Siemens Teamcenter and Dassault 3DExperience/Enovia
  • Experience in supporting and troubleshooting PLM configurations, CAD integrations, and data migrations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured approach to implementing PLM/CAD integrations and investigating PLM/CAD issues.
  • Knowledge of BOM, part and document management, ACL, change management, and PLM-CAD-ERP integration scenarios.
Success will be measured by:
  • On time delivery of new product features and changes
  • Promotes clean and maintainable code and software development best practices
  • Clear communication and technical leadership within team
  • Self directed, takes ownership of tasks, stays apprised of broader team’s work
  • Someone with grit—who stays motivated, resilient, and driven when facing obstacles and ambiguity.
  • Mentoring and advising others on the team

  • Compensation: This is a full-time, permanent position with an attractive compensation package that includes a stock options package.
